Bloggers: Writers, Photographers and Ultimate Content Creators

I’ve been blogging for 3 years and my first social media platform (among the popular ones these days) was go figure, YouTube! The first video I ever uploaded was actually of my first kitten, falling off my desk. It was an accident and I happened to get it on camera. I want to also add that I was young and did not think she would fall off the table. *no judge zone* I started blogging a lot more regularly on my first maternity leave. Now that I’m on my second maternity leave, blogging has been what has kept me sane. Getting back into work mode, to come back out of it in less than 2 years can really do a toll on you. Especially mentally. So this time around I’ve been partnering, collaborating and really getting to know the business side of the blogging world. However, this doesn’t mean I say yes to everything…

What to Wear to a Picnic #DixieDeals

Double digit weather is finally here and I’m getting ready for patio and picnic dates! It’s a bit tricky deciding on what to wear to a summer picnic. It really depends on what sort of activities you’ll be participating in or the lack of. My general rule of thumb is, if it’s a picnic where you’re playing sports or helping with the BBQ, then I lean towards wearing pants and a top. If I’ll be relaxing and just enjoying the weather, then I want to look cute. Looking cute was a lot easier before having kids. Now whatever I choose to wear, it has to be cute but also “nursing friendly”. SUMMER PICNIC VIBES If you have been following my blog, Twitter and Instagram stories, you’ll see me mention some of the great #DixieDeals I’ve been finding at the Dixie Outlet Mall. The best is when I don’t even know…

Summer Wishlist [Fashion]

Before another season begins, I’m already going through my favourite Instagrammers, Pinterest and window shopping for my wishlist. Shein made it really easy for me this year. I just scrolled down to their “what’s new” list and found everything I want for the summer. What’s your Summer Wishlist? OFF THE SHOULDER Off the shoulder was a must on my summer wishlist! There are so many different variations of off the shoulder styles. One side, two sides, low, high.. I’m just in complete awe. Below I’ve added the prices for my top 4 favourites on the SheIn site for the off the shoulder trend, also ruffle and frills: 1. $34 Ruffle Dress – 2. $25 Periwinkle – 3. $18 Blouse 4. $13 White belted Scallop  RUFFLE AND FRILLS 1. $26 Pleated Pants – 2. $26 Babydoll…

OOTD: Tanked + Fringe

OOTD: Tanked + Fringe   Sometimes all it takes to look extraordinary is a simple outfit with the right amount of accessories. When accessorizing, think of trends that represent your style. I chose fringe for this outfit. To feel comfortable in your outfit, pick brands or type of clothes that have never let you down. My go to tanks and Zara jeans. Tanked + Fringe, coming up #ontheblog #torontoblogger #6ix A photo posted by Hum (@humjk) on Aug 31, 2015 at 1:33pm PDT  I think some other bloggers can relate to this, but the other day someone asked me if I wanted to be a model. I asked, why? “I saw your instagram account and you have a lot of fashion/style posts of yourself…”   Oh yes. Yes I do have those posts on instagram. Like most girls, I love putting together my outfits, spending time doing my make-up and doing…

What I Wore: A Metallic Statement

You could wear the most simplest outfit anywhere and add pizzazz with anything metallic. It can be in your shoes, accessories or a top. I’m not too keen on metallic pants though :”/  For a friends birthday dinner I wore minimal accessories and went super chunky with my clothes. Loose and flowy for a warm windy evening.  What I Wore: A Metallic Statment I love boyfriend jeans, jackets and here I am wearing a boyfriend blazer! My favourite thing about this blazer is the high slit down the sides. Makes for a perfect peekaboo to a printed top or dress. Skirt – F21 Tee – HM Heels – BCBG Clutch – HM Necklace – Peoples Watch – Burberry Boyfriend Blazer – F21

What I Wore: Maxi & Jean

For a casual summer day out, I chose to wear something comfortable yet stylish. Comfort doesn’t always mean sweatpants and flip flops. And trust me, there’s nothing wrong with that combo, it’s my outfit every morning to the mailbox. Ha! This summers go to outfit for casual everyday has been Maxi & Jean Let me set the scene for you. It’s a beautiful sunny, windy day. 30 degrees with some points of scattered clouds. A walk around my mama’s neighborhood is to the starbucks down the street, lake views and semi clean sand between your toes at a micro man made beach. Let me explain what’s going on with my hair here. It’s summer time and if I’m out under the sun for hours then I need to have it off my shoulders and out of my face. It’s all a part of the whole comfort thing. A simple pompadour…

Rips and Ruffles

It was a Rips and Ruffles kinda day… I must say..(totally off topic) but Lays chips has done an amazing job by naming their chips, ruffles. I’m talking about ruffles in your clothes but for some reason when I say or think ruffles, the chips come to mind. (I don’t even eat chips anymore!). I apologize in advance if by the end of this post you’re craving chips. I love this high and low ruffled top. To be honest, I can’t figure out where I got it from because the tag was driving me crazy, so I cut it off. Oops! The rips in these Zara jeans are poifect! Only because they’re just surface layer rips, not ripped to show skin. Which is great if it’s a bit chilly out. I don’t like being cold. I feel as if I take this bcbg tote bag everywhere! It was one of my…

Weekend Wear: Black & White Swizzle

During the weekend if you don’t have anywhere to go that calls for formal, semi-formal or even business casual then believe me, I’m going towards an outfit like this. Easily transformed into dressed up and to walking down town Toronto streets. With a change of shoes I was ready for both in my black and white swizzle wear. Don’t let the height of these wedges fool you. They’re really comfortable! I would suggest if you’re purchasing anything from this on-line store, purchase half a size or one size up. They’re not true to size and fit a bit snug. I’ve always found wedges to be a lot easier to walk in than skinny stilettos. It’s just a matter of finding the right design. As most wedges are not very..erm…fashionably pleasing? Sweatpants Jogger Cut – UB, similar here Shirt – HM Wedges & Purse – Shoedazzle Necklace – Forever21…
