Panasonic Cyclonic Launch

If you’ve ever lived in a smaller place, be it an apartment, condo or just a one bedroom shared home, you’ll know the value of space. Sometimes you don’t have room for a full oven, dishwasher or microwave. So getting products that have multiple functions and that benefit your standard of living becomes high on your priority list. Which brings me to the Panasonic Cyclonic. This microwave isn’t like your traditional one. It use’s Panasonic’s Inverter® Technology, which delivers spinning waves of power in a circular pattern. Like a cyclone. Other microwaves usually deliver energy in a straight line. This new cyclonic energy is a game changer! It ensures food is cooked evenly, no matter what size or shape! I had the pleasure of being invited to the Panasonic Cyclonic Launch hosted by Abbey’s Kitchen. At the launch Abbey demonstrated how to make 5 healthy easy recipes in…

5 Reasons To Mute People On Twitter

Did you know there’s a mute button on Twitter? I know it’s old news. But have you used it? Muting a user on Twitter means their Tweets and Re-tweets will no longer be visible in your home timeline. (They won’t know.) Thank you Twitter for creating the Mute button. This is a great alternative to un-following someone. So when should you use it?  Ranters/Complainers Your typical ranter or complainer on twitter is someone who ONLY rants/complains. You can usually tell when you visit their page and all you see is text. No links, no hashtags, no images… As a matter of fact they may be using Twitter as an output to blow off steam. In most cases I would recommend to just un-follow them, but if it’s a friend/family/co-worker then the mute button will do. Also, if the person you follow usually doesn’t rant and all of a sudden your timeline…

Tarte Showstopper Clay Palette

Tarte Showstopper Clay Palette Packaging: I love the packaging! It has a faux snake skin feel to the top and gold siding. I love that it’s in a compact shape, which only means that it won’t take up too much room when travelling and a better mirror shape. What’s inside the palette: This Tarte Showstopper Clay palette has six eye shadows and three cheek options. The champagne pink is really shimmery so I advise you to not use it on your brow bones and sparingly on the cheekbones. Unless you’re going for a strobe light look. The blush (fame) is one of my favourite colours for blushes. Especially for olive skin tones it gives you a natural looking glow. Pinks and reds tend to be too harsh for everyday.  The eye shadow colours are great for everyday, however if you’re hoping for the colour to be true once applied to your…

First day of Fall…

FALL  I look forward to Fall. Wearing layers, darker colours and the not too cold, not too hot weather. A few months before a new season I start to causally seek out some season appropriate outfits that I could also mix with some of the stuff I already have. This year I didn’t find anything I could say I’m dying to wear. At  first I was bummed out but now that I think about it, it’s a perfect opportunity to really look at what I already have and create some new looks. The beauty of shopping in advance is you find a lot of stuff for much cheaper. Just like the purse I’m rocking from Zara. I bought it online during the summer. Most likely from last Fall but with a purse like this, it could never go out of style. At least no where in the near future.…

Kim Kardashian Inspired Turquoise Eyeliner Look

Where do you get inspiration for your next make-up look, hairstyle or even fashion? For make-up looks most of my inspiration comes from instagram. This Kim Khardashian look was found via my IG news feed. It’s pictures like this that strike a memory of what I have in my make-up inventory and gets me inspired when I’m stuck in a routine of wearing the same old colours day after day. It’s funny how exactly 10 years ago I was rocking bright purple and turquoise on my peepers and now here I am lusting for bright colours again. I think a huge reason why I ever stopped was getting into the corporate world. I’ve never seen anyone at our office and many other corporate offices rock bright colour shadows or liners. Maybe bold lips, but that too can be risky sometimes. Enough jibber jabbering.. Products I used for this Kim Kardashian Look:…

5 Days in Texas

Every year when my husbands birthday comes around I start to brainstorm ideas for his birthday present. I try to think back to anything he said he wanted or wanted to do. Which is rare most of the time because just like me, if there’s something we really want to do or want, we work towards getting/doing it right away. He’s a football fan and his favourite team,  you guessed it… are the Dallas cowboys. He hadn’t been to a cowboys game in Dallas before so this was it! The big surprise! After speaking to people after the trip, I realized how lucky I was to find flight tickets after first purchasing the game tickets. I really wanted us to fly into the Dallas airport but Austin worked out as well. Upon arriving to the Austin airport we picked up our car rental from Hertz that we booked prior to…

OOTD: Tanked + Fringe

OOTD: Tanked + Fringe   Sometimes all it takes to look extraordinary is a simple outfit with the right amount of accessories. When accessorizing, think of trends that represent your style. I chose fringe for this outfit. To feel comfortable in your outfit, pick brands or type of clothes that have never let you down. My go to tanks and Zara jeans. Tanked + Fringe, coming up #ontheblog #torontoblogger #6ix A photo posted by Hum (@humjk) on Aug 31, 2015 at 1:33pm PDT  I think some other bloggers can relate to this, but the other day someone asked me if I wanted to be a model. I asked, why? “I saw your instagram account and you have a lot of fashion/style posts of yourself…”   Oh yes. Yes I do have those posts on instagram. Like most girls, I love putting together my outfits, spending time doing my make-up and doing…
